Position Overview
Serves as the subject matter expert and primary instructor for region and culture studies. Provides country/region-specific instruction on cultural awareness, counterpart relations, religious familiarization, partner nation social skills, and regional media relations. Develops country and sub-country lessons. Multiple positions may be filled to cover required geographic tracks. Cross-trained to support instruction in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university related to International Studies of a specific country or region in the applicable theater of operations
- Deployed as a Military Advisor, PAS, RAS, FAO, PRT member, attaché, SCO, or equivalent with military advisory experience
- Experience working with partner nation counterparts in the applicable theater of operations
- Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide Region and Culture instruction (general region or specifically focused) and evaluations to students
- Develop country and sub-country lessons and instruction
- Teach subjects including Interpreter Application, Counterpart Relations and Rapport, Regional/Country Orientation, Cultural Awareness, Country Overviews, Religious Familiarization, Partner Nation Social Skills, Regionally Focused Public Affairs/Media Relations, and Organizational Cultural Competence
- Liaison with 423 MTS Intel Flight, Air Force Culture and Language Center (CLC), Air Force Geographic Component Commands, HAF, MAJCOMs, C-NAFs, Air National Guard (ANG) country teams, and other organizations
- Develop, update, revise, and deliver curriculum within USAF EOS-established policy
- Maintain satisfactory or above on Government-administered instructor evaluations
- Support cross-training by teaching lessons in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager
Preferred Qualifications
- Native or near-native language proficiency in a language relevant to the assigned region
- In-country living or working experience of 2+ years in the assigned region
- Qualification to cover multiple geographic tracks (e.g., CENTCOM + AFRICOM)
Work Environment & Conditions
- Primary location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), New Jersey. Contract may transition to other CONUS locations.
- Normal duty hours: 0730–1630, Monday–Friday. Duty days may extend to 10 hours and include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support mission requirements.
- Platform instruction normally does not exceed 6 hours per day.
- May require OCONUS travel to PACOM, EUCOM, SOUTHCOM, AFRICOM, and CENTCOM (non-combat areas) as part of Mobile Training Teams (MTTs). Valid passport required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
