Position Overview
Plans, coordinates, executes, and manages comprehensive Air Advisor practical exercises designed to evaluate student knowledge and application of Advisor Core Skills and Cross-Cultural Competencies. Develops fictional partner nation environments, manages role players, and integrates learning objectives from all classes into scenario-based exercises. Cross-trained to support instruction in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Deployed as a Military Advisor, PAS, RAS, FAO, PRT member, attaché, SCO, or equivalent with military advisory experience
- Practical knowledge of air advising activities to incorporate training objectives into realistic, scenario-based exercises
- Experience developing, planning, and executing military practical exercises in support of both academic and fieldcraft lessons
- Experience as an observer/controller/evaluator for complex military exercises
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, coordinate, execute, and manage comprehensive Air Advisor-centric exercises evaluating students’ Advisor Core Skills and Cross-Cultural Competencies
- Develop and manage fictional partner nation environments with detailed bios, backstory, and character studies for multiple partner nation roles
- Manage exercise areas including preparing settings and décor that simulate partner nation office space, work space, and social space
- Manage and direct role players on appropriate behavior and actions to achieve desired student responses
- Coordinate with Site Manager and Course Director on total number and target languages of role players for all practical scenario exercises
- Purchase and deliver authentic ethnic meals and minor ethnically correct supplies for culture classes and exercises (with CO approval)
- Coordinate with academic and fieldcraft instructors to integrate learning objectives from all classes into practical scenario exercises in both field and classroom settings
- Coordinate with Course Director and outside agencies to schedule appropriate training areas and ranges throughout JB MDL
- Support cross-training by teaching lessons in other disciplines as directed by the Site Manager
Preferred Qualifications
- Theater experience in multiple CCMD regions
- Experience with immersive training environments or opposition force (OPFOR) management
- Language skills in Arabic, Dari/Pashto, Korean, Spanish, or other regionally relevant language
Work Environment & Conditions
- Primary location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), New Jersey. Contract may transition to other CONUS locations.
- Normal duty hours: 0730–1630, Monday–Friday. Duty days may extend to 10 hours and include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support mission requirements.
- Platform instruction normally does not exceed 6 hours per day.
- May require OCONUS travel to PACOM, EUCOM, SOUTHCOM, AFRICOM, and CENTCOM (non-combat areas) as part of Mobile Training Teams (MTTs). Valid passport required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
